Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya, lying on the Indian Ocean. It is served by a major port and an international airport. It is the centre of the coastal tourism industry.Being a coastal town, Mombasa is centred on Mombasa Island, but extends to the mainland. The island is separated from mainland by two creeks, Port Reitz in south and Tudor Creek in north. It is a laid-back, Islamic influenced town, where locals dressed in traditional Islamic moving slowly in the streets of the hot climate. Islamic is also seen in architecture and food of Mombasa. Three nice beaches are only a few hours from the centre. It offers white glorious sand and warm water. Get out of the water, take a walk into Old Town to taste the Swahili culture and street food, and then check out some of the hottest clubs.
