DO and CO may already be known around the globe as gastronomical genius Attila Dogudan’s exclusive catering company, but, with a brilliant renovation of its stunning flagship property in the world renowned Haas Haus adjacent to Vienna’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the firm has jumped into the hotel arena with an ultra stylish splash.

Seminal Viennese architect Hans Hollein – a Pritzker prize-winner and one of the true pioneers of postmodernism – has created the ultimate upgrade to a building he originally designed and has never ceased to be identified with ever since. A testament to the design not only having stood the test of time but also to the building having become an architectural landmark. The interior design has successfully been taken into the future with a sophisticated blend of high and low tech. Four floors of the sparkling glass and metal structure have been transformed into 43 unique, cone-shaped guestrooms that offer visitors to the Austrian capital unparalleled views of the city’s best-known and arguably most majestic square as well as luxurious comfort. Each room is a truly extravagant living environment: They are based on solid, high quality natural materials such as teak and stone, yet offer the kind of extreme modernism one has to come to expect from the likes of James Bond.

Sophistication is also reflected in the culinary acumen being given an equally sparkling setting: The buildings upper floors are replete with DO & CO’s exclusive restaurants to actually taste the secret of the caterer’s success; a lounge to elegantly slouch about in while deciding on whether to go up to the roof garden and sip on something delicious while marveling at the sights; and the aptly named “temple” – a private dining pavilion with only 12 seats as well as the newly created “tower” for private conferences with up to 40 seats.
