| |  | | Ciampino is a town in the province of Rome, Lazio, Italy. It was a fraction of Marino until 1974, when it became a commune that obtained the city status in 2004 by presidential decree. It is best known for the local "Giovan Battista Pastine" International Airport or Ciampino Airport, located 15 km south east of the Centre. The area has good access to other places; La Romanina business centre and golf club, Fiornello Golf Club, Frascati, which is one of several attractive historic hill-towns in the south-east of Rome known collectively as the Castelli Romani. If time permits, visit San Marino (outside of Rome), the small capital holds a wealth of history, museums, and priceless architectural monuments, is worth a visit. |
