Auckland, the “City of Sails”, is one of the world’s most liveable cities; it’s also one of the most visit-able. Nearly a third of New Zealand’s population collects their mail here, making it the largest metropolis under the land Down Under. But why? Maybe there’s something in the water. Maybe it’s magnetism. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s the combination of great weather and abundant activities wrapped in a top shelf location. Set out in any direction and you strike water. Yes, that is technically true everywhere. But in Auckland, you’re wet in a matter of minutes – not days. Any saltwater pastime you can think of, and some you haven’t, is at your doorstep. Just for good measure, toss in a couple rainforests and a couple dozen conservation parks; harbours full of sails and islands full of, well, nothing; and markets that’ll have you thinking you’ve landed in the “City of Sales.”
