Smartstays is operated by Virtual Travel Pte., Ltd in Singapore, part of the Asia Web Direct Group, one of the most successful online travel service groups in South East Asia. With a network of more than 100 websites, we showcase over thousands of hotels and resorts to well over 50,000 world-wide visitors every day.

Our own reservation systems include our WebDirectTM instant booking system, our LateStaysTM last-minute booking system and several other travel and tour booking and planning systems.

Our first web portal, phuket.com, was launched in 1995. This quickly became the most useful information web site for travelers planning their holidays in Phuket. The popularity it achieved led to other similar portals throughout Thailand and Malaysia. Our aim was to introduce world-wide visitors directly to local suppliers of travel related services via the web. We developed direct booking systems, easy contact systems and interactive forums.

Although the Internet has changed substantially since these early pioneering days, our vision remains intact. Through the years, we have evolved with the Internet and our success stems from seeing the needs of our visitors, our suppliers and the tourism industry.

Today, we have grown to a group of seven companies operating a collection of over 200 web sites showcasing holiday destinations worldwide. Our web sites offer travel information, photos, maps and recommendations plus our own instant booking service for hotels and tours. Our sites are supported with a host of travel related products designed to make buying convenient, fast, hassle-free and, of course - competitive.
